Inventory & Receiving Specialist

Role Summary:

Equipment Group International is seeking an experienced inventory control specialist for the office in South Houston TX. The primary focus of this role will be to evaluate, organize and control tooling inventory to ensure rentals, repairs and production stays on schedule. Additionally, this role supports all warehouse inventory materials and utilizes the company software to track, verify and update purchasing data as necessary. The individual in this role will collaborate with the Inventory Manager, Shipping Manager, Service Manager and the Sales Department to execute purchase order maintenance, support product replenishment and assist with Shipping and Receiving. This is a full-time position with a growing company.


  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.

  • Previous work experience in Quality Control, shipping & receiving, inventory, or relevant work experience.

    • ​  Applicants with backgrounds in mechanical and/or industrial manufacturing, refinery, and tooling are encouraged to apply.

    • Forklift certification is a plus.

  • Dependable work transportation.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of inventory and/or shipping & receiving processes.

  • Excellent time management skills, ability to work under pressure and juggle/prioritize various tasks.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be detailed-oriented with a focus on accuracy.

  • Must be able to use a computer efficiently to use our inventory and shipping databases.

  • Must be able to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.

  • Receive, process and enter packing receipts, purchase orders and vendor invoices.

  • Verify details when sending out or receiving inventory items.

  • Pull inventory purchase orders, parts and Bill of Ladings.

  • Assist with building tools by reading specs and blueprints.

  • Keep an organized record of completion in the system.

  • Analyze conflict and problem-solve with all levels of the operation.

  • Utilize teamwork to pull purchase orders and be assertive with urgent tasks.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to occasionally stand and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to occasionally function in activities involving walking, bending, squatting, reaching.



  • Day Shift, Monday to Friday.

  • Occasional on-call duties during weekends or longer hours during busy times.
